So sad to hear of the loss of ‘Uncle’ Dave. My thoughts are with you, ‘Auntie’ Pat and your family at this time. I have too many fond and funny memories of uncle Dave, especially those from our caravan holidays we took together, to share them all here. However, one that really sticks out in my mind took place during one of our many holidays to Pagham. On our usual walk around the harbour to Sidlesham and The Crab and Lobster uncle Dave had spotted the remains of an ‘ancient’ ship, full of rusty nails, the next day he had us all return to this ancient find to pull out and remove all the nails!
